I got it on lightning deal, but right out of the box and it did not work. I’m returning the item.

Ok, this is a usb flash drive. What could be that wrong? My old flash drive was too small so I thought I’d try this one. Here’s what I missed in this design. 1) capless design means the cap is not covered even when the cover is slid out. So lint gets in there. Also, the cover slides back when in my pocket. 2) no strap included and hole too small for any strap unless you use small wire. I suppose a small wire to attach this to a key chain is the only option. what a pain if you want to wear this around your neck and not have it get banged up by your keys.

The product was defective right out from the box. There is white plastic at the connector, that it blocked the USB drive to insert into the USB port of the computer. I didn’t notice that; so when I push it in, it break the USB port of my computer!!! I save money while I get it from lighting deal. However, now I need to spend extra money to fix my computer. When you get the drive, make sure there is nothing wrong with the connector.

So okay – what we have here is 8 GB of handy storage in a small convenient package. I use this device almost everyday and so far, without problem one. Regarding the protective sliding guard, on my unit it remains firmly in place in either the open or closed position. The Kingston DataTraveler appears to enjoy good quality construction – a tough little nut if you will. For me, this purchase was a no brainer – low price, large storage capacity and small size. Bottom line: Should I get one good year of trouble free use, how can I go wrong? At less than two dollars per GB (I paid $14.99) this was a great purchase. Two thumbs up!
