Product Description
No more hassling with map discs. Now you don’t have to worry about discs being misplaced, damaged, lost, or stolen because we’ve done away with them for the F-Series navigation line. We’ve taken the entire TeleAtlas Database that was previously on the two-DVD set, compressed it down, and stored it internally on flash memory…. More >>

I am very strongly considering this unit as an upgrade to my stock vehicle stereo, even though there is a stock upgrade that will add navigation and almost everything. This is a very inexpensive unit, and had alot of features available that most other units do not have.

This system has several issues, poor map color, very small map display. Touch screen slow. In order to recive MSN and have HD raido and Sirus, you must have spliter on you Antenna. Limit on GPS info. Over all very poor.

First, the positive- great audio set up flexibility and performance. I use the head units’ amp for the rear channels and a separate amp for the front component speakers and subwoofer. With the Polk speakers and JL sub I sit in my car listening to music long after reaching my destination!

However: The software interface is horrible in every way, and the voice command system is a cruel joke at this point. The GPS is clunky at best, far surpassed in ease of use by Garmin-based units I have had. This is a not ready for prime time product, even with the 2.o interface. I do not see how this made it out to a consumer release with all the annoyances, especially in a Premier product costing $1200! I hope 3.0 (not even dreamed of yet) will make this the awesome product it should be.

After 6 months in my car: I can see the other people’s reviews for this product, and it seems to depend on two things. If 1. you paid full price for it and 2. If you have used Garmin GPS before, and 3. if you like hacking your products and consider this normal or even fun. If you get it cheap and have never used gps or used only poorly designed gps units (like most original equipment ones), and you have no problem hacking electronics you may like it. However, I stand by my comments above. Yes it works, sort of. Barely. I hope the update 3.0 improves some of the problems. It really hit me when I borrowed a friends Nuvi. It was so much easier to use.The display was useful and legible! I wrote Pioneer but no response from customer service.
