This may be my fault, but I thought that the back would provide a more secure grip for the iPad. It does not. It does provide protection for the back of the case, but it does nothing to aid in holding on to the iPad in use. I bought it, but I am not using it…

The images shown for the product are only partly correct. The shape is the same, however the “carbon fiber” look is not what you get. It’s a solid black sheet with no texture. The case is stiff and feels somewhat similar to the iPad screen. It stays on by wrapping around the four corners of the iPad. Like in the picture, the corners do not go all the way up so the uppermost aluminum bevel on the iPad is always visible.
The case doesn’t fit as well as I thought it would. Fairly snug but it feels as if it’s just slightly too small. It’s probably not a big deal and I doubt I will have issues with it popping out of the case.
I got this on sale and wouldn’t pay retail for this item since it is just a piece of plastic. The seller also charged nearly $13 for shipping and handling but it took a rather pokey five days to make it to my door. Amazon, if you’re listening, please get policies in place so there is some truth in advertising. On top of having pictures that don’t represent the actual product, it’s getting tiresome to find what appears to be a good deal then go through the entire checkout process to find at the very end that the price has been puffed up with ridiculous shipping and handling charges.
To break it down, I’d have given the item 4 stars had it actually been what was shown in the images. I give the seller one star for having an incorrect picture, adding nearly 50% to the price through last minute “handling” charges, and then taking five days to get to me. My low rating reflects the seller’s ability to disappoint in almost every aspect of my order.
