What others thought about this Gadget
after 3 months of (careful) use, like all good things must come to an end, left ear-piece started having intermittent disconnects and soon the right one followed. It seems that the cable joint near the jack had developed a blister and the headphones would work only if you hold it at an certain angle.
I went looking for warranty support and was surprised to see that only the product's earphone external shell and earphone internal components were covered by this limited warranty. in other words, it doesn't cover jack! (or the cable).
I guess I should have researched the product before purchase. I am planning to buy a TRRS jack and replace it myself.
My next problem is with the silicon buds that are on the ear-end of the earphones. Over time (e,g, a month or so) there is some kind stretching that occurs which results in the silicon piece staying in my ear when I remove the ear bud. It gets frustrating trying to get your fingernails around the lip of that little flexible piece to pull it out of your ear canal. The alternative is to leave it so loose, the unit falls out of your ear. I'm about to run out of silicon pieces because they start coming off in my coat pockets and are eventually lost.
Now, only about seven months into ownership, the sheath around the wire is breaking at the base of the jack. It's obvious that I'm going to have to get a new pair and it won't be one of these.
As for design, I really wish these phones had a lock on the stop/stop/pause button. It's very handy for when I'm walking and need to answer a call or stop to talk to someone but I can't count the number of times I've come in after walking the dogs, put the headphones down and accidentally bumped that button. Nothing like discovering a hour or two later that your iPhone has played through the current and next episode of This American Life's podcast.
The sound quality is nice but the other issues really prevent me from recommending these earphones. I wish I had purchased something else.
