This works well with my Dish Vip722 DVR. It is a little slow to respond.

The My DVR Expander does exactly what it says it will. Very pleased with the capability to store movies and play them right from the drive. The installation screens in the manual were right-on for Dish-Network. My only gripe would be that it does not have an on-off switch. I don’t use it frequently since the DVR has plenty of on-board storage. To turn it off, you need to physically unplug it which is just a bit inconvenient but I knew that when I bought it.

Worked out the box. Followed the simple directions, formated in a couple of mins.

    Transferred about 100 shows overnite.

    Sweet.

Very quick playback from the drive.

All in all happy with this purchase.

Has now joined my 3 other mybook drives in the household :)

I bought this to expand the storage on my Dish Network ViP 612. It works just fine in that capacity. Could I have used a regular USB hard drive? I don’t know – but this one specifically said it worked with the Dish Network boxes, so I got it.

I bought this to expand the storage capacity on my Dish HD-DVR. It works as advertised and is easy to set up. I haven’t been able to fill it up yet. I have 105 recorded HD events stored on it and still have 20% of the drive available.
