Incorrect categorization bugs the heck out of me, if it wasn’t for the picture showing this is a pos design for some moron who doesn’t mind having a wire and thereby defying the whole point in wireless technology, I would not know it was not truly wireless like it falsely claims in the title. It is by no means a wireless device the wire is clearly visible in the picture. And please some company out there make a MCE Remote that is truly wireless for people who don’t want the clutter and cant afford to have the wires lying around for cats to chew through. I just want a simple software based remote control that controls my pc play and pause stop and all media buttons like the wireless keyboard only less bulky so I can control it from couch with comfort. Also infrared should not be the only choice in these remotes, come on that is the worst technology for most things it may be okay with remotes, but I know in audio it sucks worst than anything can’t see anything right in front of it totally blind technology, there has to be a better option. of course even an IR would be okay for me, since my pc has a USB port in front that would make it visible just like all other IR devices in media center, and since most pcs have this, the point in having the long wire in the first place eludes me. Are the companies making these living in the past when USB ports were only on the back of pcs, or are they just stupid?

don’t know if it could work, as it was shipped without the receiver and any documentation

…when it comes to controlling your computer/htpc from your couch.
A (bad/**decent**/great/perfect) mouse feature complimented by all the (bad/ok/**great**/perfect) controls you’ll need to browse the web, play movies, listen to music, view photos etc. Just make sure you are pointing it right at the (**bad**/ok/great/perfect) receiver though!

I really want to give this thing a good review, and I was excited to get it in the mail. Another reviewer said he (or she) simply plugged the receiver into the USB port on a 64-bit windows 7 machine, and the drivers installed and everything worked. Well, on two different 64-bit windows 7 machines, I plugged in the receiver, drivers installed, and then… nothing.
Does anybody know what the problem might be? Is there a manufacturer’s website where I can make sure I have the right drivers? Like I said, the functionality this remote offers — if I can get it working — would be fantastic.
(And yes, there are batteries in the remote and the little red LED on the face of the remote is lighting up. I’m within a couple feet of the receiver.)

This is not compatible with the harmony 720. It works well enough and is inexpensive.
